Last year, I posted this on Facebook because I felt it would be a sweet gesture, and honestly, I felt really alone. I wanted to meet someone so I tried to seem to be the most playful and sweet as I could be. I was a sort of desperate. I was broken with a smile.
So much has changed since then. I found Christ, I changed whom I spent time with, I was given the most rewarding job I could have thought of, and I started becoming happier. None of that came directly from being in a relationship with another person. I think it’s something that we are taught as children, that without another person you aren’t important, or we don’t have worth, or that we are not loved.
It’s all wrong. You are important. Every day of your life you make decisions that affect other people. You change the world around you! Do you not find that to be amazing? That YOU have the power to change things around you? Because it is!
You are worth something. Every human life has worth, and I’m here to tell you that you are worth it. You’re worth more than struggles and loneliness and all kinds of negative emotions. You are worth more than your past and your flaws and your failures. You’re worth so much more than any monetary sum, even $7,830,328,578,923.
You are loved, do you hear me? YOU ARE LOVED AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW THIS EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE because it is so true. You are loved by so many people that you wouldn’t ever realize the extent of that love. And you are loved by God Himself, with the desperate intention of showing you that love. Don’t you dare think you aren’t loved because the truth is so far in the other direction that it is ridiculous.
And you know whats funny? I will still be your valentine. I would always be your valentine if you want it. But it’s not because I’m lonely, it’s because I love you. I really do.
